Meal Inspirations Chunky Chickpeas - All Natural Vegetarian Review

When I purchased this Tasty Bite vegetarian entree I was concerned that rather than chunky chickpeas, they'd be mushy -- but I was wrong. They have a firm texture that creates a lot of possibilities. I made a dip with them, only adding Greek style yogurt because they are so well seasoned, and served it with fresh vegetables. It was excellent. Adding it to salads is also delicious, but there are lots of possibilities.
The ingredients are water, chickpeas, onions, sunflower oil, garlic, ginger, coriander, salt, cumin and spices. Per half pouch serving there are 210 calories with 60 from fat. There are seven grams of fat, one half gram saturated fat and no trans fat. No cholesterol, 350 mg of sodium, 30 grams of carbohydrate, 10 grams of fiber, 5 grams of sugar and 9 grams of protein. And, this dish is gluten free and is Kosher.

Compared to the ones I've sampled in the past, this is an unusual Tasty Bite entree. Most of those were so soft from processing that they lacked texture -- and even if delicious, the ingredients were almost impossible to identify on the plate. That mushiness made them difficult to use in any but the most basic way -- with rice, noodles, etc. They lacked the versatility of the chunky chickpeas, which is easy to incorporate in a variety of other dishes.
